notes"Dongfeng CSK-131 Chinese 4x4 Light Tactical Vehicle is a Chinese light-protected vehicle. It was developed by Dongfeng company as a private venture. It is an armored version of the Dongfeng EQ2050 tactical vehicle, which is widely used by the Chinese armed forces. At the time of its introduction, this vehicle was also called the Mengshi (Chinese for brave soldier). The CSK-131 is used by China's armed forces. It is also being proposed for export customers. The Dongfeng CSK-131 has got an armored hull and provides protection for the passengers against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. This vehicle is sometimes seen with armored windscreen shutters. All-round protection is against 7.62x39 mm ball rounds from a 100 m range. The front arc withstands hits from 7.62x39 mm armor-piercing rounds. The Dongfeng CSK-131 can be seen as China's equivalent of an up-armored HMMWV. The CSK-131 accommodates a driver and 5 passengers. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 2 000 kg and can carry various cargo and supplies instead of troops. It can also tow light trailers and artillery pieces. The Dongfeng CSK-131 can mount various weapons on top of the roof. This vehicle can be fitted with a shielded machine gun position or remotely-controlled weapon station. It was seen armed with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, and a 35 mm automatic grenade launcher. The vehicle is powered by an ISDe 200-41 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 200 hp. It is a license-produced Cummins engine. The vehicle has a full-time all-wheel drive and is fitted with a central tire inflation system. It improved mobility over difficult terrains, such as sand, mud, and snow. The wide track of this vehicle allows driving in tracks left by the main battle tanks. The vehicle is equipped with a self-recovery winch."
